This document outlines the Terms and Conditions for all scholarships, bursaries and awards, administered by Angry Owl Technology Group, LLC and its affiliates (“Angry Owl”). All scholarships, bursaries and awards will be referred to as ‘scholarships’ herein. By submitting an application for our scholarship, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.
You must read these Terms and Conditions in their entirety before you accept your scholarship offer. When you accept your scholarship you are agreeing to and accepting these Terms and Conditions and agree to the requirements and conditions of your scholarship.
Please note, if you are under 18 years of age, your parent or guardian must read and consent to these Terms and Conditions on your behalf.
Students in receipt of scholarship may also be required to sign an individual scholarship agreement. Students must meet all conditions as outlined in the agreement.
All correspondence between applicant and Angry Owl Technology Group, LLC will be operated primarily via email, with the option of telephone communication, based on Angry Owl’s decision. All applicants must use a school or university email address to be eligible. Any changes to this email address, after submission of application and without necessary cause, may result in cancellation of their application.
On or about November 30, 2020, a panel of qualified judges will select one (1) potential winner based on the criteria of writing ability (25%), creativity of proposed contribution to the home environment (25%), demonstrated commitment to contribution (25%), and overall excellence (25%). At least one (1) of the submitted applications will be selected as the potential winning application. In the event of a tie, the potential winner will be the applicant with the higher score for overall excellence.
The potential winner will be notified by email. Sponsor shall have no liability for any potential winner notification that is lost, intercepted, or not received by the potential winner for any reason. Angry Owl reserves the right to choose no scholarship prize recipient if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified applications. Portions of the prize winning application may be posted on the sponsor’s website, or used in other marketing materials, without further compensation or notice to the winner.
Any successful applicant may be required to show proof that they are enrolled on, or have been accepted on, an accredited university course, commencing studies for the 2019 fall semester. Further, applicants must be U.S. citizens.
All students offered scholarships will receive an official ‘offer’ email offering the funds, and must reply either accepting or rejecting this offer within 14 days of receipt.
Failure to respond within this 14-day period may result in the scholarship offer being withdrawn and reassigned. You must accept your scholarship offer by the due date, as instructed in your offer email, to be eligible to receive payment.
Angry Owl Technology Group, LLC will make payment of the funds in one single installment, though we reserve the right to make payment in multiple installments, as we see fit.
The total value of the scholarship offered will be outlined in the official offer email. We reserve the right to offer any value of funds, up to the value of $1,000.
The scholarship funds can be paid into your nominated bank account, or by other means, to be discussed between resume companion and you the applicant. Angry Owl reserves the right to make final decision on how payment is made, and can withdraw the offer of scholarship if an amicable and realistic payment process cannot be reached.
Scholarships are awarded based on established eligibility criteria. You must meet the eligibility requirements to receive your scholarship payment. The eligibility requirements for the scholarship are outlined on our scholarship page of our website.
Angry Owl is not responsible for and cannot provide you with financial advice on taxation matters. The information provided here is of a general nature only and does not take into account your individual financial circumstances. If you are enrolled full-time (at least 18 credit points per semester), your scholarship payment may not be taxed, however Angry Owl is not responsible for checking and notifying you of, nor paying any taxation obligations. You must seek appropriate financial advice prior to accepting a scholarship.
In accepting a scholarship from Angry Owl Technology Group, LLC you agree to WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE Angry Owl, its officers, associates and partner organizations from any and all liability, including but not limited to, any liability arising from the negligence or fault of the entities or persons released, for death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may occur to you during or after the scholarship period, including during or after any travel undertaken as part of the scholarship.
Providing false or misleading information is an offence. If Angry Owl knows or has reason to believe that you have provided false or misleading information, Angry Owl may reassess your entitlement to the scholarship and you will be liable to repay to Angry Owl the total sum of any payments incorrectly made to you.
Angry Owl reserves the right to cancel the scholarship program at any point. Angry Owl reserves the right to share your application with any company affiliates, including personal information such as your name and email address.If you are offered a scholarship, your details (including name, school, photograph, video and scholarship awarded) may used by the Angry Owl and/or affiliated organizations for promotional purposes, including but not limited publication to our website, social media channels, print and electronic media. If you do not wish for your details to be used for promotional purposes, you must notify Angry Owl in writing.
