What Is RealScout?

RealScout is a home search platform that allows leads, prospects, and clients to look for homes from an agent’s website. RealScout uses MLS data along with data-driven search parameters that show users more listings like the ones they’ve viewed.

The platform is designed to help agents drive more conversions by keeping users engaged while they search. There are several unique features that RealScout uses to keep users focused on one agent while they search.

After all, the National Association of Realtors found that there is an undeniable trend toward computer-based property searches. Unfortnately, this means that buyers are bypassing their favorite agent during this initial search.

The goal of RealScout is to give the power of client home search back to real estate agents in the age of home search sites like Trulia, Zillow, and The platform helps agents give their clients an improved search experience that uses real MLS data when you provide them with access.

On their website, RealScout says it’s the “Industry’s #1 Collaborative Home Search.” Let’s find out if that’s true as we look at their features, pricing, pros and cons, best alternatives, and user reviews.

RealScout Features

RealScout’s features are not as plentiful as some other real estate platforms, but for a home search platform, we were pretty impressed.

Safe Search

Unlike sites like Zillow and Trulia, when your clients use your RealScout home search portal, they’re never shown ads for other agents. The search experience takes up the whole page, which can help keep clients engaged and focused while they search.

RealScout calls this experience a “safe haven” because agents don’t have to worry about their clients seaching out to another agent from an ad they see while searching.

On top of the lack of ads for other agents, your clients will be part of a fully-branded search experience designed to keep you top of mind as they search.

Show Clients Real MLS Listings

If your clients’ only option to view homes is through sites like Zillow, they do not see the most accurate and up-to-date information, photos, and property details. RealScout gives real estate agents a way to show clients real MLS listings anytime at the client’s convenience.

Your client has no other method to access MLS information, so by using RealScout, you’re offering them a bonus that most other agents just can’t.

Property Comparison

This feature is the solution to having multiple tabs open to compare different properties manually. RealScout is the first platform to offer machine learning-based property comparisons that instantly show the selected listings side-by-side and compares the property features.

This can simplify the search process for a potential homebuyer, and you’ll stand out because it’s a feature they can’t get anywhere else.

Review Buyer Search Data

You can access all your buyer’s search data and view it broken down to show which listings are the most popular, buyer demographics, locate the right buyer for a seller client, and make sense of data trends over time.

Spotlight Property Photos

Did you know that properties with more photos sell faster and for a higher price? Because RealScout is mobile-friendly, too much small text can be frustrating and take away from the simplicity of the app. That’s why they put property photos in the spotlight, calling their platform a “photo-centric” search experience.

Mobile App

You and your clients can use RealScout on a computer, smartphone, or tablet. Right now, RealScout offers a mobile app for iOS and Android so every client can access it.

The platform is designed to be very mobile-friendly, so there’s no frustrating difference between using the website and the mobile app or endless scrolling to the side to see cut-off information.

Integrate with Third-Party Apps

Third-party integrations with the RealScout system

RealScout can integrate with some of the top third-party apps to provide your clients with a smooth, enhanced experience. You can use their API to adjust and configure the platform to meet the needs of your brokerage best.

Rapid Listing Alerts

Keep your clients more engaged in their home search over time with this feature. When a new listing appears that matches or is similar to your client’s previous searches, they’ll get an instant notification via email.

These automated emails are pre-written, so you don’t have to pen individual messages each time a new listing goes out. RealScout says they’re written in “natural language” that is “customized for every buyer.”

RealScout Plans and Pricing

The pros don’t stop there. RealScout pricing is on par with other real estate platforms and can be quite affordable for real estate agents and brokers. They offer plans for both agents and brokerages at different price points.

Pros and Cons

Let’s look at the pros and cons associated with using the RealScout platform.

Pros (what we like)
  • Free 14-day trial on the Agent plan. No credit card is required, and you can cancel anytime.
  • Exclusive MLS listing access. Your clients will appreciate that they’re able to view authentic, accurate MLS listings directly – it’s one more way to stand out in client’s minds and earn their trust.
  • Zillow,, and Trulia leads. RealScout even says their customers see a 100% increase in lead conversion rates once they adopt the platform.

Cons (what we dislike)
  • Clients need agents. RealScout relies on MLS information (that requires your MLS login), so non-agents can’t use it without the proper real estate credentials.
  • Brokerage plans have more features. Some of the features offered only come included with the Brokerage plan, including a special broker dashboard, additional analytics, live coaching sessions, and a dedicated account manager.

RealScout User Reviews

How do users feel about RealScout? We found out by researching all the RealScout user reviews we could find online.

“I think the potential of RealScout is huge for real estate agents in terms of staying in touch with your clients. It’s a great incubation system for both buyers and sellers.” -Evan Huynh

“If our agents follow the dashboard to see who is active, it helps them pinpoint where they should be spending their time. If somebody is very active, they’ll have a better chance of closing a deal.” -Miguel Correa

“I was in a recruiting meeting with a new agent and she said, ‘What are you going to do for me that other brokerages aren’t?’ … I think that was the deal sealer – she’ll be joining soon!”-Brad Whitehouse

Our Take

RealScout aims to make your brand as a real estate agent the center of your clients’ home search experience. Today, so many real estate prospects are starting their home searches on websites like Zillow, Redfin, and Trulia.

This takes power out of agents’ hands and leaving listings up for grabs depending on the agent ads that are shown. But don’t worry. RealScout fixes this problem.

The software makes it possible to keep your clients in a branded search experience that offers more accurate, real-time MLS listings that elevate you above other agents who can’t provide this kind of functionality.

The data generated from their searches becomes your roadmap to success. RealScout might be the perfect solution for an agent or broker who wants to convert more of their leads into clients.

It’s also great for agents wanting to win more listings by being able to match home buyers with sellers who have properties that match their criteria.
