Your Airbnb Login
Whether you are looking to become an Airbnb host or are simply a guest, you will set up your account the same way. Follow these three easy steps and you’ll be on your way!
- Visit www.airbnb.com and click sign up.
- Choose an option to set up your account. You can either use your email, or you can log in with your existing
- Facebook, Amex, or Google account. We recommend using your email instead of an existing account on another platform. This way if your Facebook, for example, is compromised, you won’t lose your Airbnb account.
- Complete your profile information including your name, email address, phone number, agreement to house rules, and payment agreement.
Tip: If you are signing up on your personal computer, click “Remember Me.” This will store your login information each time you are on the Airbnb page on that computer. Be sure to only choose this option on your personal computer, and not a public or work computer.
How to Reset Your Airbnb Password
- Visit www.airbnb.com/forgot_password
- Enter the email address you used to set up the account.
- Check that email for a link to reset your password.
If you already signed up with a Facebook or Google account and want to set up an Airbnb password, you can do so at any time. This will protect your account even if Facebook or Google is compromised.
When you are logged out of your account, visit www.airbnb.com/forgot_password and follow the steps as to reset your password. After you create an Airbnb password, you won’t be able to login through Facebook anymore, but your account will still be linked to Facebook.
How to Change Your Airbnb Login Information
If you remember your information but simply wish to update it, log into your account on the Airbnb website or mobile app.
How to Change Your Airbnb Password
Sometimes you’ll need to update your account information, and other times you’ll just need to update your password. In the event of the latter scenario, follow these steps:
- Click Account and then Security
- Or visit www.airbnb.com/users/security
- Enter your current password and choose a new password. You’ll need to type it in twice to confirm it.
How to Change Your Airbnb Email Address
When you are logged in on airbnb.com, go to Profile, or visit www.airbnb.com/users/edit
- Under Email Address, enter the new address you’d like to use.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
- You will receive an email to that address to confirm the change was made.
Airbnb Disabled Your Account
If you log into your account and receive a message that it has been disabled, don’t panic. It’s possible that something may have accidentally flagged your account as spam or reported for misuse.
Don’t just ignore this issue, even if the message says your account is “temporarily disabled.” There is no way of knowing how “temporary” it really is.
Contact Airbnb right away. First, send an email to email@example.com. Explain your problem and be sure to mention that you are trying to book an upcoming reservation. This will make your request top priority.
Don’t rely on sending an email alone, as there is no guaranteed response time. Call Airbnb customer service right away at one of these numbers:
Again, be sure to mention you are trying to book an upcoming reservation. Or, if you are a host, say you are trying to confirm an upcoming reservation. This will flag you as high priority.
Securing Your Airbnb Account
Although it may be tempting to choose an easy password (name of your dog 123), be sure to pick something that is very secure, especially if you are a host and Airbnb is a stream of income for you.
Log in frequently and click Security to review your account’s login history. This will detail when and where you have logged in. If you see anything suspicious, change your password immediately.
If your account is compromised or you forgot the password, don’t create a new account without closing the old one, especially if you are a host.
Deactivating Your Account
This can cause issues when registering new properties and can confuse your personal details sent to hosts. You can Deactivate your account by logging in and clicking “Deactivate my account.”
If you want to permanently close and delete your account, call Airbnb. They will verify your identity and work on deleting your account.
You won’t be able to recover any personal data once this is completed. Still, some information may still be present, like messages you sent to others.
If you can’t log into your account but would like to scroll through Airbnb’s help options, you can ask a friend to login for you. Once you are logged in, you will be able to access the help center at www.airbnb.com/help.
Still Having Airbnb Login Trouble?
If you’re having trouble logging into your Airbnb account, you won’t be able to view the Airbnb help page. Try resetting your password by visiting www.airbnb.com/forgot_password.
When in doubt, call a customer service representative at 855-424-7262. Be sure to fill in all of your account information correctly and review it frequently to keep your account secure.
Protect this information, so you can easily use the platform to make money on your rental properties or book an upcoming vacation to stay like a local. Bon voyage!
