What Is iHomefinder?

iHomefinder is an internet data exchange plug-in for real estate professionals. IDX plug-ins let agents, brokers, and teams search for and show listings from their local Multiple Listing Service (MLS) on their own websites.

The company has been around since 2001. During that time the company has made arrangements with more than 450 local real estate boards to access their listings.

To see whether or not your MLS integrates with the platform, check out their updated list on their website. Before deciding to try iHomefinder, it’s important to see if the ones serving your market are on there.

If you’ll be covered and would like to know more, you’re in the right place. Read on to learn about the company’s best features, plans, pricing, and our take.

iHomefinder’s Best Features

This platform is unique because it offers more than just an IDX plugin. It also integrates marketing tools, CRM integration, and more. Read on to learn about some standout features of iHomefinder.

Unique IDX Plugin

There are lots of IDX plug-ins for real estate websites. However, iHomefinder is a great option when it comes to customizing searches for properties and displaying the results as lists and maps.

Depending on subscription level, users can filter by price, location, and whether the property is open, closed or sold, among other features.

A useful polygon search tool (available with the higher-price packages) lets users draw a shape on a map. Then they can map search for properties within those boundaries.

The agent can set the available search features. This can help buyers obtain accurate search results without unnecessary options and keeps them coming back to the agent’s page.

The plug-in also offers a Universal Search Bar. This lets visitors to the website easily search the area, address, and MLS ID from a single field.

MLS Integration

One big advantage of an IDX-powered website is that an agent’s page can display any of the listings on their local MLS. They aren’t limited to their own listings or their company’s listings.

That means their site can show up in search listings whenever a home shopper looks for a property in their local market.

Say a home shopper does an internet search for “Houston Golf Course Condo.” The results could include an individual Houston agent’s page alongside the likes of and Zillow.

Marketing Tools

It’s also easy for agents to create property listings using iHomefinder’s drag-and-drop tools. They can customize listings to suit their approach and readily create maps to display them.

In addition to IDX search, iHomefinder’s marketing tools help with lead capture and nurturing and market reports. For instance, lead generation forms collect data when website visitors save or favorite listings. Then followup marketing emails are sent automatically.

Unique Website Templates

Paid subscribers to the plug-in also get access to a selection of pre-built website pages. These pages let individual agents, brokers, and teams have their own pages, complete with branding and customizable features.

Agents don’t have to use the pre-built websites. They can use iHomefinder’s plug-in with their existing websites. The WordPress plug-in also works with this popular platform.

Photo Gallery

Agents can set iHomefinder to show visitors a photo gallery of featured listings they have selected. Another option is a gallery of results from the user’s own saved searches.

Integrated CRM

When visitors favorite or save listings that interest them that also generates a lead. The contacts are forwarded to the agent’s CRM. The agent can then follow up using automated branded emails.

iHomefinder offers a CRM of their own in the Premium+CRM package. This lets you track users, follow up on leads, and see how many subscribers you’re adding to your email list.

If you already have a CRM, you can easily connect to it using a plugin. This will then update your contact list in the same way we just mentioned.

Contact Info Made Easy

Contact information on leads is gathered whenever anyone fills out a home valuation request form. Visitors can also register for an account, which is an additional source of leads.

Automated Emails

To use iHomefinder to send the emails directly requires an extra $20 a month for that capability. However, agents can send emails through a third-party mail platform like Mail Chimp without paying extra.

Prospect Conversion

When visitors narrowly target searches for the specific types of properties that interest them, agents can respond with highly targeted follow-ups.

The combination of this insight into shopper interests with automated followup can be an effective way to turn browsers into clients.

Customer Support

iHomefinder provides customer support by phone, email, and chat. Chat support is only available to the highest-priced of the three tiers of subscriptions, however. There are also a number of YouTube videos describing how to use various features.

The baseline package includes advanced and basic search tools including polygon search. It also has the Optima leads mobile app. Standard comes with a WordPress website and theme.

The pre-built pages also have lead-capture forms. They capture user data when a user asks to schedule a showing, requests information, or saves a listing to favorites.

Premium Package — $99.95

The premium subscription includes the basic features plus a variety of market reports. Available reports include daily listing alerts and monthly market report emails.

Prime Package — $144.95

Our Take

The major catch with iHomefinder is that it is not as user-friendly as some IDX plug-ins. The high degree of customization comes at the cost of a lot of complexity. iHomefinder is fairly easy to set up initially.

However, customizing the advanced features of iHomefinder to work the way an agent wants it to with data from the local MLS may require some programming skills. Any web designer experienced with IDX integration should have no trouble using iHomefinder.

Agents new to IDX and unwilling to hire a professional developer should be prepared to tackle a steep learning curve. Agents without much time to learn the product should stick to a simple IDX platform like Placester or Kunversion.

To make sure the subscription is going to be useful, it’s best to first try the free trial. If that works out, next go to a monthly subscription rather than signing up for a year immediately.

iHomefinder in a Nutshell

Overall, however, iHomefinder is a competitive offering in its space. It’s powerful and flexible IDX plug-in for real estate agents, brokers and teams. And it is especially noteworthy for its customizable property search capabilities.

If you want a high level of customization and have time to spare, this product is worth a look. But if you just want to launch your site and don’t mind it looking like a generic site, there are better options for you.'s real estate software guide
